Key Stage 1 (Years 1–2) · Science
Living things and their habitats
Pupils recognise that living things have basic needs for survival, identify a range of living, dead and never-lived things, and explore local habitats such as ponds, gardens and woodlands. They learn to group animals and plants by features, describe simple food chains and discuss how habitats provide for needs.
