Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6) · Art & design
Drawing
Pupils develop observational and mark-making skills, exploring line, tone, texture and proportion to represent objects and figures accurately. They learn to use a variety of media such as pencil, charcoal and coloured pencil, practise measuring and scaling, and apply simple perspective and shading to create depth. Emphasis is placed on sketching from primary sources and refining work through critique and reflection.
